Apple Won't Allow Twitter to Change Logo to X in App Store

JAKARTA - Twitter owner Elon Musk has officially started his movement to change the brand of the social media company to X and has started changing the logo to buying the X.com website domain.

However, it seems that this cannot be realized easily, partly because Apple does not allow the Twitter brand to be changed to X in the App Store service.

Phone Arena on Saturday, July 29 reported that it was caused by Apple's long-standing App Store rule requiring app makers to provide app names with more than one character.

As reported by ANTARA, Sunday, July 30, although now the Twitter logo has changed to "X" in Apple's App Store, the platform name shown is still Twitter.

Even though application names on iOS can be filled with 30 characters and are quite long, they also specify a minimum limit for naming with two characters.

Thus for this X case, Apple device users will see in the application description the name displayed has changed to X but when searching for a related application what appears is an application called Twitter.

Meanwhile, the app's listing on the App Store continues to show that the platform name is Twitter. Again, while iOS apps can be up to 30 characters long, they must have at least two characters.

Luckily on the Android service, namely through the Google Playstore, the X application did not experience a similar problem and has now changed its name to X.

When Android users update their Twitter, they will now see the app name and logo change to a full X.

Elon Musk, who had the idea to change the Twitter brand to X, also seems to be getting stronger now.

The latest is known that he has changed the Twitter logo at his company headquarters in San Francisco to the X logo.

He seems increasingly convinced of turning Twitter into X as part of his plan to create super applications such as WeChat in China which has now become a social media platform, digital payment platform, to an instant messaging service in the Bamboo Curtain country.
