The Opening Of The 2023 U-17 World Cup In Surabaya Is Short, Less Than 10 Minutes

JAKARTA - The 2023 U-17 World Cup starts today, Friday 10 November. On the first day of this prestigious age group event, there will be a opening ceremony at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT), Surabaya.

Different from the opening ceremony of world-class tournaments in general which was worked on spectacularly, the opening of the 2023 U-17 World Cup which will be held in Indonesia will be carried out simply and even fast.

Referring to the statement of PSSI General Chair (Ketum) Erick, Thohir and PSSI Deputy Chairperson, the duration of the opening ceremony only lasted 8-10 minutes.

"Preparing an opening ceremony of eight to 10 minutes is a challenge. It's different with the Asian Summit or the G20, the time is a bit loose," said Erick Thohir, quoted from PSSI's official website.

The availability of a short time will be sought to present entertaining dishes. On the other hand, Erick Thohir revealed that the U-17 World Cup was actually not recommended to hold the opening ceremony.

However, thanks to his efforts to communicate with FIFA as the organizer, eating is allowed, yes, the opening ceremony even in a short time.

"With the capacity and experience I have, I believe Wishnutama and his team can present a proud opening," continued Erick Thohir.

"Yes, it's good that (the opening ceremony) is there. There shouldn't be any. This is an extraordinary Indonesia can open. When U-20 I tried to do it at that time," he said.

"You see, if it's normal for the U-17, there won't be openings for the first match, it's opening. We're just good with FIFA and finally FIFA will give Indonesia the opportunity," explained Zainudin Amali added.

The opening ceremony of the 2023 U-17 World Cup was held in the middle of the first and second matches at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT), Surabaya. Singer Wika Salim and actress Aurelie Moeremans will fill the opening ceremony.

The schedule for the opening of the 2023 U-17 World Cup will take place at 18.30 WIB or after the Panama vs Morocco match which will take place at 16.00 WIB. After that, a second match will be held immediately starting at 19.00 WIB between the U-17 vs Ecuador Indonesian national team.
