Becoming A Wild Card At MotoGP Malaysia 2023, Alvaro Bautista Doesn't Want To Be Equated With Dani Pedrosa

JAKARTA - The Alvaro Bautista racer will appear with a wild card status at the 2023 Malaysian MotoGP which will be held on November 12 at the Sepang Circuit. Ahead of that moment, Bautista refused to be equated with Dani Pedrosa who will also appear on the same status.

Bautista expressed this rejection because he felt that he and Dani Pedrosa had a different background. Bautista revealed this because he did not want to get any pressure in his first appearance in the MotoGP race since the end of 2018.

"The goal is to have fun. Many say 'Look at Pedrosa fighting for the podium', and so on," said the 2023 WorldSBK champion, quoted by AS.com on Sunday, November 5.

Alvaro Bautista comes as a wild card racer who also has flying hours in the World Superbike (WSBK) competition. However, he considers his flying hours to be lacking with MotoGP prototype motorcycles.

Meanwhile, Pedrosa is a test racer who rarely races, but has more flying hours with his riding motorbike when taking wildcards.

"But remember Dani had more flying hours of me in MotoGP, he underwent a lot of tests at Misano and the situation was different," said Bautista.

"Maybe I could be tougher in the race, which he lacked this to catch the podium. It's a different situation, the results don't affect the pressure on me either. I'm just going to go out and enjoy it, with a great team and great bike," Bautista said.

Despite his question, the former MotoGP rider hopes to perform optimally and smoothly without problems at the Sepang Circuit. It was revealed in order to enjoy the fastness of the Desmodedici GP23.
