Brazilian Legend Romario Rejects Carlo Ancelotti As National Team Coach

JAKARTA - Former Brazilian national team striker Romario strongly opposes Carlo Ancelotti handling Neymar et al. The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is considered right to appoint Fernando Diniz as national team coach. He fully supported Diniz until the end.

Diniz has the status of temporary coach replacing Tite, who only took Brazil to the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup.

This is what allows Diniz to continue coaching at his club, Fluminense. Additionally, he got a one-year contract.

Furthermore, Ancelotti, who is currently coaching Real Madrid, replaced him. CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues stated that Ancelotti will start managing the Brazilian national team in June next year or before appearing at the Copa America in the United States.

It's just not certain whether Ancelotti has accepted the offer. The former Chelsea and Everton manager only said he was happy in Madrid. Ancelotti always chooses to remain silent about being Brazil's coach.

Even though it is not certain that he will become the national team coach, it doesn't matter that Ancelotti has received rejection from Brazil.

Selecao legend Romario stated that the federation and national team should put their trust in Diniz by giving him the task of being a coach for a long period of time.

"Diniz is the best coach. As a national team coach, he doesn't provide the same things as at the club, let's say when the team is training," said Romario.

"He did what he could do. From the last two matches, the national team drew and lost. But the team didn't always win the match. In my opinion, the Brazilian national team actually played excellently during the time he was in charge," said the former Barcelona star.

Romario also supported CBF's policy when appointing Diniz as national team coach. He actually opposed having the national team handed over to Ancelotti.

"I want to congratulate Ednaldo, the president of the CBF, because he chose Diniz. He is one of the best coaches we have in Brazil," said Romario, who is now a senator from the Liberal Nationalist Party.

"F*** Ancelotti. I liked Diniz until the end," he said.

Ancelotti is one of the coaches who has achieved success with the clubs he manages.

He coached Los Blancos for the second time at different times. Ancelotti led Madrid to win the Champions League in 2014 and then did it again in 2022.

While coaching AC Milan, Ancelotti also led the team to win the Champions League twice. Ancelotti has played in various elite European clubs, including coaching Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
