Manchester Derby: Kyle Walker, Warns That Marcus Rashford Can Still Be A Threat

JAKARTA - Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has warned that his England team-mate, Marcus Rashford, is still a threat to watch out for.

The Manchester United striker has made less impressive this season scoring just one goal for his club ahead of the derby against Manchester City on Sunday, March 29 at Old Trafford Stadium, Machester.

This is a very different situation than last season when 25-year-old Rashford scored 30 goals in all competitions, including a winning goal in the Premier League match against City.

"I think Marcus has shown over the years that he is the type of player who could create problems for any team if they can't handle it. He has been an important figure for United and the England national team since he was a teenager because of the threats he poses to any team he defends. He has a lot of different qualities, and we know he could be a threat this weekend," Walker said, quoted by VOI from Fotmob.

Rashford's decisive goal in the 82nd minute on City's final visit to Old Trafford in January ended the hosts' controversial struggle.

United had equalized just four minutes earlier through Bruno Fernandes despite Rashford being in an offside position during the game.

Walker stated that City was not motivated by revenge after paying for last season's defeat by winning trebles, including beating United in the FA Cup final.

"We didn't think that way," said the right-back of City. "Last season it was over, we lost at Old Trafford and then won the trebles. The point is that that's what matters. Of course this match is very important, but it's part of a bigger picture and, oké, we lost last season and fate didn't side with us, but we got up from it and did what we did."

"We want to win the game because it means and because in the end it will help us in trying to win the Premier League again. We don't need to think further than that. We've had some great games against them in recent years, and our focus is on giving fans something they can enjoy again this Sunday," he said.

Despite experiencing ups and downs before the recent international break, City remains in a strong position. "People continue to say how difficult it is to get motivation because of our achievements last season, but we are all competitors who want to win. We have shown that year after year. If it is difficult to get motivation, then we will not win three Premier Leagues in a row. We enter every game with a desire to win, for ourselves, for this club, and that's the reason we were so successful. It didn't go away just because we did something special last season," he concluded.
