Jenson Button Denies Will Cooperate With Sebastian Vettel At WEC

JAKARTA - Former Formula One (F1) racer Jenson Button is rumored to be trying out the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Rumors are circulating, Button will invite former F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel.

This issue strengthened after reports said Button was interested in collaborating with Vettel.

However, the 2009 F1 world champion explained that he had never made such a statement. The rebuttal was made in response to a tweet from Motorsport.com, by writing: "I didn't say anything about the connection with Seb."

Vettel, who is seven years younger than Button, has maintained confidentiality over his future plans.

Meanwhile, Button does not know for sure what championship he will choose later. Apart from the WEC, he also has the opportunity to participate in the IMSA event and the endurance race.

"To be honest, I don't know, I have several options at IMSA to do the full season and endurance race, I also have several options to compete at WEC," Button said.

"First of all, I need to see if I'm enjoying this weekend of the race, and I think I'm going to enjoy it, and I've got permission from my wife, so that's also important!"

Although the four-time world champion appears to have accepted a 'concrete' offer to compete at WEC with the British Hypercar team Jota, he has yet to make a decision.
