AC Milan Ready To Bring More Players, Olivier Giroud Will Bewas

JAKARTA - AC Milan is preparing to sign players on the January 2024 transer market. The positions filled include the front sector and this makes veteran striker Olivier Giroud wary. Whether Milan will still be maintained or kicked out because the squad gets a new, younger and fiter power.

Milan is indeed the busiest team to shop for players in the summer market or the period before the competition is rolled out. Even though there are additional players, Milan's performance still doesn't meet expectations.

In the Italian Serie A competition, Milan still survives at the top by being ranked second behind Inter Milan. The Milano duo both pocketed 18 points, but Milan lost the goal difference. Inter also perched at the top of the standings.

Contrast to Milan's achievements in the Champions League. They only earned two points from a goalless draw against Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund. Milan is only in third place in Group F.

From that result, coach Stefano Pioli also planned to overhaul the squad by bringing in several new players. Pioli wants to add players in the back sector to full back and forward positions.

The front sector is indeed a Pioli problem because it is considered less clinical. Even the Rossoneri still rely on Giroud, who is 37 years old.

According to Calciomercato.com, Pioli is eyeing players playing in Germany's Bundesliga to fill the back line. Milan is currently monitoring defender Freiburg Kiliann Sildillia, who is still 21.

Furthermore, Pioli is also considering defender Joe Scally who plays at Borussia Moenchengladbach. Pioli's choice for a defender from the United States seems to have the support and club owners

There are other players who are expected to complete the back four, namely Juan Miranda from Real Betis. The defender is still 23 and Milan may have no trouble getting him.

For the center forward, Lille striker Jonathan David is Milan's main target. David is projected to replace Giroud if the veteran is not maintained by the club.

The contract for the former Chelsea and Arsenal strikers does expire next year. But there is no sign of Milan renewing his contract.
