JAKARTA - Two Indonesian women's doubles managed to ensure a move to the round of 16 of the 2023 Asian Games. Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia and Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahya Pratiwi won over each opponent in the round of 32.

Apriyani/Fadia defeated the resistance of representatives of Hong Kong, Lui Lok Lok/Ng Wing Yung. They won two straight games with a final score of 21-14 and 21-13 thanks to a consistent performance in each game.

After securing a place in the round of 16, Apriyani/Fadia will continue their struggle against Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota. This Japanese representative drove after getting a chance in the first half.

Previously Ana/Tiwi had confirmed the move to the round of 16 after silencing Nepal's doubles, Rasila Maharjan/Anu Maya Rai 21-3 and 21-7.

In the second round Ana/Tiwi will meet the world number one pair Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan who will immediately get a ticket to the second round.

The success of this women's doubles unfortunately cannot be imitated by the Indonesian men's singles, Jonatan Christie. Facing Chou Tien Chen, Jojo lost two straight sets with a final score of 17-21 and 17-21 which automatically ran aground from this tournament.

Of all Indonesia's representatives who competed today, only Jonatan Christie lost, while other representatives could step into the next round including Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Putri Kusuma Wardani, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.
