JAKARTA - Ducati racer Jorge Martin managed to rank second in the 2023 Indian MotoGP. However, Martin passed good results with a tough struggle.
The main race will be held at the Buddh Circuit on Sunday, September 24. This is the agenda for the inaugural MotoGP race to be held in India.
On the first chance to step foot in India, the riders were sufficiently tested by the weather there. Jorge Martin even became dehydrated and had fallen in the garage.
Because of that, Jorge did not go to the parc ferme but went straight to Pramac's garage after the race.
In the Pramac garage, Jorge Martin looks exhausted and kneeling. He was immediately given water to overcome the dehydration. Jorge Martin's condition made the podium celebrations postponed.
After attending the podium, Jorge Martin, who was still dehydrated, did not even attend the press conference after the race.
"You have to believe me when I say I've given 100 percent. I'm dehydrated with eight laps remaining. So it's very difficult to finish the race even though I can keep the pace well," Jorge Martin said in a voice recording as quoted from Crash, Monday, September 25.

The dehydration due to the extreme Indian weather experienced by Jorge Martin even caused the rider to make mistakes on the last lap, so there was a serious threat from Fabio Quartararo to take second place. But Jorge Martin was finally able to overcome Quartararo's pressure.
"In the end, on the last lap I made a big mistake because of dehydration. I went wide so Fabio followed me but I was finally able to catch up with him again," explained Jorge Martin.
"So I am very happy with the success of winning this second position," he said about the achievement.
Thanks to finishing second in MotoGP India, Jorge Martin stuck Pecco Bagnaia at the top of the standings. Jorge Martin is now only 17 points away from Bagnaia.
