Media Officer Team Beaten During Press Conference, Madura United Take Legal Action

Madura United decided to take legal action after their media officer Ferdiansyah Alifurrahman was beaten by an unknown person.

The incident occurred after an away match against PSS Sleman at Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sunday, September 24, yesterday. Ferdiansyah was hit by the incident while attending a press conference session.

"Madura United FC strongly condemns this incident. We argue that the stadium should be a friendly place for everyone, especially for both competing teams. Moreover, this incident occurred in the media conference room which should be a limited space for registered personnel," said Madura Team Manager United Umar Wachdin, quoted on the club website.

"We will formally protest against league operators for this inconvenience, apart from us taking legal action to light of this incident," he added.

Madura United detailed that the incident happened to their media officer after the press conference after the match was taking place. In the middle of the session there was a group of people who did not use identification marks entering the room with a press conference taking place using a face covering.

There was one person then tried to act aggressively at the persi conference table, where the Madura United coach and player sat. The media officer was quick to choose to stop the prescon and asked players and coaches to immediately enter the dressing room.

Unfortunately, after the players and coaches entered the dressing room, Ferdiansyah was still left behind in the persi conference room. He was then arrested and pushed by another person and then dragged to the entrance of the player.

He was then beaten by several other people who had previously waited outside the room.

"To be honest, our officer media managed to escape and was then helped by internal officers and taken to the medical room for treatment for the injuries suffered," Madura United explained.
