Liga 1 2023/2024: Laju Barito Putera Detained At PSM Makassar Headquarters

PSM Makassar held Barito Putera in the 12th week of Liga 1 2023/2024. In the match which took place at Gelora BJ Habibie Stadium, Parepare, Friday, September 15, PSM won 2-0.

Two PSM goals were scored by Kenzo Nambu and Rasyid Bakri. This result made PSM Makassar move up to seventh position with 18 points from 12 matches.

Meanwhile, Barito Putera is still in second place with 20 points

Statistically, Barito Putera is actually better. Rahmad Darmawan's team excels in possession by recording 75 percent.

However, PSM Makassar is more diligent in threatening by releasing a total of 12 of them on target, as reported by Antara.

In the first half PSM Makassar had a chance first through a kick released by Adilson Silva, but his shot was still saved by goalkeeper Barito Putera Dhika Bayangkara.

Furthermore, it was Barito Putera's turn to threaten through Hasyim Kipuw's long-range kick which was still leading right into the arms of PSM goalkeeper Reza Arya Pratama.

Barito Putera again had a chance, this time through a header released by striker Gustavo Tocantins, but the ball still bounced over the crossbar.

Bernardo Tavares' squad managed to break the deadlock in the 40th minute thanks to a free kick goal released by Kenzo Nambu so that the score changed to 1-0. The score lasted until the first half was over.

Entering the second half, Barito Putera took the initiative to attack first and threatened through Bagus Kahfi's kick, but the ball still bounced from the PSM goal.

Kenzo Nambu had given a threat to Barito Putera's goal through a speculative kick that he released, but the ball still had not met the target and was thinly sideways from Barito Putera's goal.

Rahmad Darmawan's squad continues to attack the PSM defense through the Exel Rukahu movement whose possession is not so perfect that the ball can be secured by Reza Arya.

Entering the last minute of the match, Barito Putera broke into PSM's goal through Gustavo Tocantins' kick, but the referee disallowed the goal because the Brazilian striker was in an offside position.

PSM confirmed victory in this match after scoring a second goal in the 90+3 minute thanks to a goal scored by Rasyid Bakri using Donald Bissa's pass so that the score changed to 2-0. The score lasted until the game was over.

Furthermore, PSM Makassar will host Borneo FC in the 13th week of the Indonesian League 1, Monday (25/9), while Barito Putera will travel to PSIS Semarang headquarters, two days earlier.
