Conor Duel Opportunities Benn Vs Chris Eubank Jr Try To Bring It Back To Life

JAKARTA The opportunity for a duel between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr was revived. Discussions related to the duel between the two boxers were immediately carried out.

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn will open talks for the duel this week. The promoter's target is a fight date for the two boxers from England to be determined.

"We are in talks. Good communication with the Council (Anti-Doping Boxing England) about the Conor fight on September 30," Hearn said, quoted by The Sun.

Benn and Eubank Jr actually got into the ring in October last year. However, their duel was canceled after Benn, son of former boxer Nigel Benn, failed a doping test.

However, Benn is now allowed to fight again after a hearing last July with the England Anti-Doping Council. So, he can duel with Eubank Jr.

"He's already free from suspension, so it's also an option and ideally we want him to fight before he has a big game in December," Hearn said.

After Benn failed a doping test, 33-year-old Eubank chose to fight Liam Smith, 35, in January. In that duel, Eubank lost for the first time in his career.

However, this middleweight athlete retaliated for the defeat in their rematch on September 2 which Benn witnessed. Eubank stopped his opponent in the tenth round.

On the other hand, Benn has not been in the ring for more than a year since his win against Chris van Heerden in April 2022. The win left him unbeaten.
