2023/2024 AFC Cup Draw Results: PSM Makassar Meets Club Saddil Ramdani, Bali United In Difficult Group

JAKARTA - The 2023/2024 AFC Cup draw has been completed on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at noon WIB. Taking place at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, here are the results of the draw and the opponents that will be faced by two Indonesian representative clubs, PSM Makassar and Bali United.

Bali United is the winner of the Indonesian playoffs so they have the right to get a ticket to the group stage. Meanwhile, PSM Makassar managed to get a ticket to the group stage after undergoing the playoffs by defeating Yangon United 4-0 on Wednesday, August 23.

The 2023/2024 AFC Cup draw format is still the same as the previous edition, where there will be five group zones, namely West, East, Central, ASEAN and South.

The group stage round will use a double round-robin format, aka every club faces each other twice as a home-away. This round will begin on 18 September - 14 December.

Later, the three winners of the ASEAN Zone (Group F-H) group plus one best runner-up will advance to the 2023/2024 AFC Cup semifinal zone and the winner will advance to the final.

From the results of the 2023/2024 AFC Cup draw, Bali United entered Group G which contained Terengganu (Malaysia), Stallion Laguna (Philippines), and Central Coast Marines (Australia).

Meanwhile, PSM entered Group H which also contains Haiphong (Vietnam), Hougang United (Singapore) and Sabah FC (Malaysia). The last club was a club reinforced by Indonesian-blooded player, Saddil Ramdani.
