The Indonesian Women's Basketball National Team Is One Step Up The FIBA Asian Cup Division A After Defeating Thailand, Can You Make A New History?

JAKARTA - The Indonesian women's basketball team successfully defeated Thailand in the semifinals of the FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2023 Division B. Taking place at Nimibutr Stadium, Friday, August 18, this victory brought Indonesia one step up the caste to Division A

Indonesia managed to embarrass Thailand in front of its own supporters with a score score of 65-57. To be able to confirm the steps to Division A, the women's national team still has to face Iran in the final, Saturday 19 August.

Christopher Tanuwidjaja as the Person in Charge of the Women's National Team admitted that Thailand's resistance could not be underestimated. But thanks to the team's cohesiveness, the victory was successfully secured.

"Thailand doesn't want to just lose. They are a solid team. But we've known that from the start and playing at home made them even more enthusiastic. But the cohesiveness shown by the children allows us to win this match," Christopher said in an official statement.

After throwing Thailand, the Indonesian women's basketball team will face Iran in order to enter the caste of Division A. This Indonesia vs Iran meeting is actually not the first time.

Previously, the two teams had met in the preliminary Group A which was won by Indonesia with a score of 65-56.

Armed with the previous meeting, Christopher admitted, Iran is indeed a solid team. For that he asked the players to appear bolder than the opponent in order to make history.

"Iran is indeed more solid playing as a team than Jordan," Christopher explained.

"Against Iran, players must play as a team instead of relying on one or two people. Then they must dare to face the tough game from Iran. Most importantly, we must believe we deserve to make a new history for Indonesia," Christopher said.
