Prabowo Is Planned To Attend The Peak Of Christmas Together At GBK Which Involves 12,000 Christians

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the peak agenda for the 2024 National Christmas celebration at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno Complex (GBK), Jakarta, on Saturday, December 28, 2024.

The 2024 National Christmas Committee said the agenda would involve interfaith leaders and more than 12,000 Christians from all over Indonesia.

"This event is scheduled to be attended by President Prabowo Subianto, national interfaith figures, as well as more than 12,000 Christians from all over Indonesia," read an excerpt from the official statement from the 2024 National Christmas Committee Media and Documentation Team in a statement, Tuesday, December 17, which was confiscated by Antara.

The chairman of the 2024 National Christmas Committee, Thomas Djiwandono, has met with the Chairperson of the Presidium of the Indonesian Bishops' Conference (KWI), Mgr. Antonius Subianto Bunjamin, Tuesday, December 17, to discuss preparations for the 2024 National Christmas celebration.

"This meeting emphasized technical readiness and deep reflection in order to make this year's Christmas celebration more meaningful and beneficial for all people," he said.

During this meeting, Thomas, who also serves as Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, conveyed a series of preparations, including social service activities that had been carried out.

One of the social services was held in Muaragembong, Bekasi Regency, West Java, Sunday, December 15, as an important moment in strengthening the spirit of true brotherhood, defending, and caring for ecology, in line with Pope Francis' message.

Especially in the new government under President Prabowo Subianto, we hope that this Christmas will bring the spirit of brotherhood across religions and social justice," he said.

In addition, the 2024 National Christmas celebration is expected not only to be a ceremony, but rather a momentum for spiritual reflection and social solidarity.
