Kemenkominfo Launches Metaverse And Features For 23 Million People With Disabilities In The Country

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) launched an inclusive feature for people with disabilities on their website and introduced a metaverse of collaboration with Telkom.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Information (Wamenkominfo) Nezar Patria said the innovative step was taken in an effort to fulfill the rights of people with disabilities in Indonesia.

"As we know, there are almost 23 million Indonesians who have a disability status and they are often neglected in the matter of access to information," said Nezar in Jakarta, Tuesday, November 21, which was confiscated by Antara.

Nezar explained that his party through the kominfo.go.id website launched one feature, where people with disabilities can access information on the page through one available assist touch button.

When the button is pressed, a number of features will appear that can help people with disabilities access content on the kominfo.go.id site.

Available features include reading pages, adding contrasts, highlighting links, widening text, text space, hiding images, animated traps, disslectically friendly, text alignment, line height, page structure, and saturation.

"It makes it easier for them with these special features," said Nezar.

In addition, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics has also launched a metaverse that can be accessed on Telkom's methanesia.id page. The Metaverse of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics comes by offering a number of features.

Such as being able to access the Press Museum and several products produced by the Yogyakarta Multi Media College under the care of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics.

Nezar said the launch of the two innovations marked steps taken by the Ministry of Communications and Informatics to increase inclusiveness in internet access or access to digital spaces.

"The first is access for people with disabilities, this is our first step then for this metaverse is one of the innovations made so that we can be present in a virtual space and both of them I think with a passion for increasing accessibility and inclusiveness," he said.

Nezar hopes that in the future the metaverse of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, which is located in methanesia.id, can also be accessed by people with disabilities in order to increase digital inclusiveness in the country.

Furthermore, Nezar said that both the metaverse and features for people with disabilities can be accessed starting today. These steps are expected to be an important milestone in increasing digital inclusiveness and accessibility in Indonesia.
