MER-C: Three Indonesian Citizens At Indonesian Hospital In Gaza Are Healthy After The Israeli Attack

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Presidium of the humanitarian organization MER-C, Sarbini Abdul Murad, said three MER-C volunteers who served at the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza were in good health, following Israel's attack on the hospital.

"Until today, we have not been able to communicate with friends who are there," said Sarbini, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 20.

"However, according to our informants who were there, according to our network, that three MER-Cinsyaallah volunteers were in good health and some photos were sent to us... and they are now in Indonesian Hospital," he continued.

Sarbini said that currently there are 700 injured people who are being treated and about 5,000 people who have taken refuge in the hospital, the majority of whom are women and children.

"So there is no strong reason for Israel to attack because in Indonesian hospitals it consists of patients being treated," he said.

Gaza's Ministry of Health said 12 people were killed and several others injured as a result of an Israeli rocket attack at an Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza on Monday, quoted by Anadolu.

Previously, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had lost contact with three Indonesian citizens who were volunteers at the Indonesian Hospital.

He also said Indonesia condemned the Israeli attack on Indonesian hospitals in Gaza that had killed a number of civilians.

Retno urged all countries, especially those with close ties to Israel, to use their influence and ability to urge Israel to stop its atrocities.

Indonesia and Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) countries will continue to garner support from permanent member states of the Security Council (DK PBB) so that a ceasefire can be carried out immediately and humanitarian aid can also be carried out without obstacles.
