Ganjar Visits Sorong Papua, Absorbs Residents' Aspirations

JAKARTA - President Ganjar Pranowo's candidate to absorb people's aspirations in his political safari in Sorong City, Southwest Papua.

Ganjar admitted that he had received a lot of input related to livable houses, education to job opportunities, especially for the Papuan people.

"We've heard a lot of stories, came here to see for ourselves, to have direct contact with you. Come to open our ears, our eyes, including our hearts, to see the conditions," he explained as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 20.

According to Ganjar, the community's needs will be found a solution directly and quickly. No need to wait for him to become president. Ganjar will communicate the needs of the people of Sorong, to his friends who are famous for social actions.

"We received a lot of input, of course we will communicate with the existing network. And some of them are uninhabitable houses, education, some of them have graduated, but cannot work yet," he said.

Ganjar also admitted that he was amazed by religious harmony in Sorong. Muslims, Christians and other religions live side by side within the framework of the diversity of the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia.

"It's amazing what's here. Of course this is something real, we see ourselves, listen to ourselves, feel for ourselves and I think this is what should get the first priority," he asserted.

During the visit, Ganjar Pranowo also received support from the community in Innovatan, Mateani, Kais, and Kokoda (Imekko). Support was provided by the Head of the Sorong City Imekko Tribe and Sorong Raya, Ibrahim Wugaje when Ganjar visited the Kokoda complex, KM 8, Sorong City.

"With the arrival of Mr. Ganjar, I represent the people of Imekko, specifically the people of Kokoda, ready to support you for the 2024 presidential election," said Ibrahim.
