The joint SAR team found Laurensius Labi (35), a missing victim who was swept away by a wave on Loang Beach, Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province. The employee of PT Cendana Pearl was found dead.

"The victim who was missing after being swept away by the wave current on Loang Beach has been found by the joint SAR team on Sunday (19 November). The discovery of the victim through a second day of SAR operation around the scene where the victim was declared missing," said Head of Basarnas Maumere Supriyanto Ridwan, Sunday, November 19 evening.

The incident experienced by Laurensius Labi began when the victim, an employee of PT Cendana Pearl, tried to swim to catch a speed boat that was separated from the Pos Jaga association at the PT Cendana Pearl pier around Loang Beach, Lembata Regency, Saturday, November 18 at around 05.10 WITA.

While swimming, the victim was dragged by a strong enough current so that the victim was swept away so that he could not save himself.

Supriyanto said the second day of the search operation was carried out by a joint SAR team from elements of the TNI, Polri, BPBD and the government and the community conducting a search not far from the location where the victim was declared missing.

A number of SAR teams searched by diving at a depth of 9.3 meters or 600 meters from the scene.

He said that at the time of the search the victim was found at 10.45 WITA was dead.

According to Supriyanto, after the dive team was found, the victim was immediately evacuated to the speed boat of PT Cendana Pearl to the coast of Loang and taken to the Loang Health Center.

"The search operation was closed because the victim Laurensius Sabi had been found by the SAR team," said Supriyanto.
