Commission III Of The DPR Values That The National Police's Netrality Working Committee Needs To Be Expanded As Election Supervision

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives Bambang Wuryanto or Bambang Pacul appreciates the readiness of the National Police to ensure the security of the 2024 General Election. Including, agreeing with the formation of a working committee (Panja) of National Police Netrality which was formed by a commission in the field of law of the DPR.

In order to produce a direct, general, free, secret, honest, and fair democracy (luber jurdil) contestation, Bambang encouraged the National Police to uphold neutrality and not hesitate to impose sanctions on members of the Bhayangkara Yingng Corps who were proven to be involved in practical politics.

"We urge the National Police to uphold neutrality and maintain the integrity of the National Police in dealing with elections, and impose strict sanctions on members of the National Police who involve themselves in practical politics," said Bambang Pacul in Jakarta, Friday, November 17.

In line with the leadership of the PDIP faction, a member of Commission III of the DPR from the NasDem Faction, Taufik Basari, also encouraged the neutrality of state equipment in the 2024 General Election.

However, according to him, the formation of the National Police's Netrality Working Committee needs to be expanded by forming an Election Supervision Committee. He said, so that the scope of supervision could be greater.

"In my opinion, what should be formed is the election supervisory committee that will oversee the entire task and function of the National Police in enforcing the electoral law, maintaining security and monitoring the election process. It's not the National Police's neutrality committee because from his name alone there have been allegations that the National Police is not neutral," Taufik Basari told reporters, Friday, November 17.

The man who is familiarly called Tobas emphasized that what must be monitored is the professionalism of the Police in maintaining their duties which also involves neutrality.

"The National Police Chief has instructed the National Police to be neutral in the election, meaning that what must be guarded is how the Police carry out these instructions," he said.
