Joint Team Confiscates Iron, Glass And Rope During Residential Raids Of Inmates At Lubuk Basung Prison, West Sumatra

AGAM - The Joint Correctional Institution Team (Lapas) Class IIB Lubuk Basung, Agam Regency, West Sumatra, secured a number of items made of iron, glass, and ropes on the raids on the residential rooms of the inmates. "In the joint raid conducted on Thursday, the team did not find a cell phone, narcotics, and other dangerous goods," said Head of Class IIB Lubuk Basung Muhammad Ali in Lubuk Basung, as reported by Antara, Friday, November 17. He said the items that were secured were in the form of iron containers of various sizes, cans that were used as cooking places, glass bottles, small iron, and others. "We have secured all the items," he said after an early detection raid from disturbances in public security and order. The raid involved the Agam Police and Koramil 04 Lubuk Basung. "The team searched all residential rooms belonging to the inmates," he said. According to him, the raid was in the context of early detection of disturbances in public security and order in order to protect prisons from the circulation of prohibited goods such as drugs, cell phones, and dangerous goods prohibited from circulating in prisons. This activity is proof of the commitment of all ranks of prisons to be able to create correctional facilities that are clean of prohibited goods. "We are committed to protecting the prison environment free from prohibited items. I would like to thank all parties who have helped in the joint raids that have been carried out today, both from the Koramil and Agam Police," he said. He added that Lubuk Basung Prison also conducted urine tests on 34 inmates who were randomly selected.

"From the results of the urine test, all of them were negative from illegal drugs," he said.
