Firli Bahuri's New Drama, Mangkir Again Examination Of Polda Metro Today

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahiri is said to have been unable to attend the examination as a witness in the alleged extortion case against former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL at Polda Metro Jaya, today.

Firli Bahuri's lawyer, Ian Iskandar, said that his client could not attend because he had to come to the KPK Supervisory Board (Dewas).

In fact, it was said that his application had submitted a letter of application for postponement of the investigation to the Polda Metro Jaya investigators.

"The delay has been submitted because the agenda coincides with today's examination at the Dewas," said Ian to VOI, Tuesday, November 14.

However, when asked about the time when the letter of application for postponement was submitted to investigators, he did not give any answer.

Referring to the statement of the KPK Council, Firli is not scheduled to provide information today.

Originally, the examination of the KPK chairman was scheduled for Monday, November 13. However, because Firli did not fulfill it, it was scheduled for next week.

"It has been sent (the latest invitation, ed) on Monday, November 20 at 10:00," said KPK Supervisory Board member Albertina Ho.

It was said that the summons had been sent to an anti-corruption agency. Yes, the KPK Council could not force Firli to attend.

The reason is that they cannot force them like in the investigation process.

"Dewas does not have the authority to force it," said Albertina.

Meanwhile, Firli Bahuri is scheduled to undergo additional examination as a witness in the alleged extortion case against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL, today.

The examination later is the result of rescheduling. This is because Firli was absent on the grounds of official duties on November 7.

"(The examination) is scheduled for an examination or additional request for information on Tuesday, November 14, 2023," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak.
