PALEMBANG - Ogan Komering Ilir Police, South Sumatra (Sumsel) investigated the case of the involvement of 13 suspected perpetrators of forest and land fires in the area.

"We have arrested 13 suspected perpetrators of forest and land fires and all of them are individuals," said Ogan Komering Ilir Police Chief, AKBP Dili Yanto as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 13.

Police are still conducting further investigations into the perpetrators of the arson.

Of the 13 suspects, one of them is already P21, namely the suspect with the initials (DD).

"Meanwhile, the other 13 suspects are still being investigated. Other perpetrators are PS, JR, HA, ST, SP, AS, IM, KS, SP, NS, MA, PA, MM," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the current condition of forest and land fires (Karhutla) Ogan Komering Ilir, AKBP Dili Yanto said that the forest and land fire task force (karhutla) worked hand in hand to prevent and extinguish forest and land fires in various terrains and challenges in the area.

He explained that efforts to extinguish forest and land fires in the Ogan Komering Ilir area are sometimes hampered by terrain that is difficult to pass.

"To get to the location there is no access, it can't even be passed on foot because there are so many bushets," he said.

If needed, helicopters are operated to carry out water bombings in an effort to extinguish land fires in areas that are difficult to reach from land.
