JAKARTA PLN UP3 Cempaka Putih Manager, Wira Bhakti, confirmed that the incident of a PLN officer with the initials A (33) was electrocuted at the Pisangan Baru electric pole, Matraman, East Jakarta, was an illegal activity.

"We make sure that the work is not on the orders of PLN, the work is illegal," said Wira Bhakti in a written statement, Monday, November 13.

Wira appealed to the public to contact PLN through the official route if there were disturbances or complaints related to electricity.

"Please contact PLN through the official route, via PLN Mobile, not through acquaintances. If you go through an official route, the public can track where the officers are at work," said Wira.

In carrying out their duties, he said, PLN also prioritizes safety by using complete personal protective equipment and meeting applicable standard procedures. "This is of course a form of prioritizing safety in every work," he said.

Personnel from the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency rescued a PT PLN officer with the initials A (33) who was electrocuted on an electric pole while connecting and installing a new installation on Sunday. The East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Sudin Gulkarmat) arrived at the location, the rescued State Electricity Company (PLN) officer was hanging on an electric pole. The victim was electrocuted while holding an electric cable, Sunday, November 12.

Head of Operational Section (Kasi) of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman said the victim accidentally touched a cable that still had electricity. "When he was connected to a new installation to a resident's house, the victim accidentally held a cable with an electric flow, causing him to be electrocuted," said Gatot when confirmed in Jakarta. East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. deployed 12 personnel to evacuate the victim who was still hanging on an electric pole at the time. But when he arrived at the location, the victim tried to work alone down the stairs, even though officers had asked the victim to stay at the power post while waiting for other officers to evacuate. The victim who suffered burns to the right palm of the right hand was immediately rushed to the Matraman Regional General Hospital (RSUD) for medical treatment.
