SURAKARTA The presence of a police officer at the Solo PDIP DPC office in the Purwosari area, Laweyan on Wednesday afternoon, November 8, 2023, was based on Law No. 2 of 2022 of the Indonesian National Police regarding maintaining public defamation and security.

And apparently, the police patrol team's visit to political party offices in Surakarta received a positive reaction from a number of party leaders in the city. According to them, this activity is important for the stability of security ahead of the election.

The chairman of the Surakarta City PPP DPC, Edi Jasmanto, admitted that the police patrol also visited his party's office. He did not give a negative assessment of the patrol team's visit.

Instead, he assessed that police patrol activities to vital objects including party offices are natural to create a sense of security and maintain Kamtibmas ahead of the election.

"We would like to accept the patrol of police men to our office (DPC PPP Surakarta) and other vital objects," he said.

In addition, the chairman of the Surakarta City Perindo Party DPD, Milia Jatmiati, felt that the patrol activities carried out by the Surakarta Police actually gave him a sense of security and his party's offices.

"On behalf of the big family of the Perindo Party, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the Surakarta Police Chief for the patrol activities at our office on Jalan Ki Mangunsarkoro, Banjarsari," said Milia, in a written statement received, Friday, November 10.

According to him, security patrol activities are a natural thing to create a sense of security for the community ahead of the 2024 General Election.

In fact, Mila said, visits to her office were not only carried out by Polri personnel but also by TNI personnel.

"This week, from day to day there are patrols from the TNI and Polri who carry out security patrols to our office, where the agenda is for preparation for the 2024 General Election," he said.

Milia also added that he hoped that the National Police and the TNI could carry out their duties properly as expected by the community.

The arrival of police officers at the Solo DPC Office of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) in the Purwosari area, Laweyan on Wednesday afternoon, November 8, 2023, was considered an act of intimidation by the state apparatus. Because according to Kombes Iwan, the activity was based on Law No. 2 of 2022 of the State Police of the Republic of Indonesia regarding maintaining community integrity and security.
