Still A Constitutional Court Judge, TPN Ganjar-Mahfud Is Not Worried About Anwar Usman Mixing The Presidential Election Dispute Via The Back Line

JAKARTA - The Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN) is not worried that Anwar Usman will interfere through the back route even though he remains a Constitutional Court Judge (MK). This is because the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) decided that he should not participate as a member of the panel of judges on election disputes.

"So whether he's a girl, I don't think we need to worry. Because without that he can mess around but he doesn't have a vote to decide on the presidential election dispute," said Deputy of Law for the Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN), Todung Mulya Lubis to reporters at the TPN Media Center, Menteng, Jakarta, Tuesday night, November 7.

"In the decision of the Constitutional Court, he is not allowed to participate as a member of the presidential election, regional election, or election where there is a potential for conflict of interest," he continued.

Meanwhile, Chairman of TPN Ganjar-Mahfud, Arsjad Rasjid said the MKMK's decision to stop Anwar Usman as chairman had restored public trust. However, this decision should not make all parties complacent.

"We invite the public to jointly oversee the democratic party for the 2024 election," said Arsjad.

As previously reported, the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) imposed sanctions in the form of dismissal of Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman from his position. He was declared to have violated the code of ethics and behavior in deciding the case of the presidential and vice presidential age limit.

MKMK In the decision No.2/MKMK/L/10/2023 said Anwar was proven to have violated the Code of Ethics and Conduct of Constitutional Justices as stated in the Sapta Karsa Hutama.

"Imposing sanctions for dismissal from the position of Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court to the Reported Judge," said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Jimly Asshiddiqie while reading the verdict at the Constitutional Court Building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, November 7.

One of the conclusions of the MKMK called Anwar Usman was proven to have deliberately opened up the space for outside intervention in the process of taking the 90/PUU-XXI/2023 decision, thus violating the Sapta Karsa Hutama, the Independence Principle, the Implementation of the Numbers 1, 2, and 3.

In addition, he was proven to have violated the principles of impartiality, the principle of integrity, the principle of competence and equality, and the principle of independence.
