JAKARTA - Mario Dandy Satriyo did not want to testify to his father, Rafael Alun Trisambodo, who is a defendant in a case of alleged gratification and money laundering (TPPU).
It started when the presiding judge opened the trial and asked all witnesses to be sworn in before giving testimony. Then, Mario interrupted. He said he did not want to testify to Rafael.
"I object to giving information," Mario said during a trial at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Monday, November 6.
Hearing this statement, the presiding judge then questioned the public prosecutor's opinion on Mario Dandy's attitude.
At that time, the prosecutor suggested that Mario Dandy continue to provide information. However, there is no need to be sworn in. The reason is that the statement from Rafael Alun Trisambodo's youngest son is considered very important for the process of proving the indictment.
"Even if later we give our statement, please do not swear, Your Honor. Because in our opinion, the information in question is very important to hear at this trial," said the prosecutor.
Law adviser Rafael Alun was also questioned about the same thing by the panel of judges. It said the former team of officials from the Directorate General of Taxes had fully handed over to Mario.
"Basically we address witnesses on this," said legal adviser Rafael.
Until finally, Mario Dandy wanted to testify after the judge offered him not to be sworn in.
"So you are encouraged to give information but not sworn in. Are you willing to give information that was not sworn in?" asked the judge.
"Willing," Mario said.
