Photo Upload With Jokowi In Bali, IG Account Of Former Australian PM Invaded By Citizens

JAKARTA - Instagram account of former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull was flooded with comments from Indonesian netizens. That's because he uploaded a photo with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who was visiting Bali.

Not commenting on the two, the citizens instead mentioned the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK). The photo uploaded by Malcolm is a photo of the World Hydropower Congress activity. In the upload, Malcolm and Jokowi are compact wearing batik shirts and taking pictures together.

"It's nice to meet our good friend President Joko Widodo today at the World Hydropower Congress in Bali organized by the Indonesian government and the International Hydropower Association," Malcolm wrote on his Instagram, Tuesday 31 October.

No doubt, Malcolm's Instagram was invaded by citizens who commented on the political situation in Indonesia. Some of them mentioned the political dynasty related to the advancement of President Jokowi's eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka as Vice President of Prabowo Subianto at the 2024 Presidential Election.

"The problem of water has become a global issue as the Constitutional Court has become a tool for power," Anto_0487 wrote.

"Disappointed with the current Constitutional Court's decision," Aviana Wastafford said.

"The Constitutional Court's decision to disrupt democracy for the lasting power through his child who should be underage," said @ninu.nu.nu.

"The decision of the Constitutional Court to replace the requirements of presidential and vice presidential candidates is unconstitutional because the chairman of the Constitutional Court is a brother-in-law of Jokowi, sadly," said @nation.satu.an.

"The Constitutional Court as the last defense is used as a means of power," said @Reko.reko.aja.

The World Hydropower Cogress 2023 was held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, 31 October - 2 November. The congress was attended by around 1,000 participants, consisting of various groups from government, private sector, to NGOs. Jokowi's arrival in Bali to open the event was followed by the controversy for the decline in PDIP presidential billboards, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD on 31 October.
