Commission II-Orderial Elections To Discuss PKPU Draft

JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR held a hearing (RDP) with election organizers regarding the General Election Commission (PKPU) regulations and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) regulations.

"This meeting is to discuss the PKPU draft and Bawaslu regulations," said Chairman of Commission II of the DPR Ahmad Doli Kurnia, when opening the RDP as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 31.

The RDP Commission II was held with the Chairman of the KPU, the Chairman of Bawaslu, the Chairman of the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP), and the Director General of Politics and General Government of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

The RPD has scheduled a consultation on the adjustment of KPU Regulations based on the Constitutional Court Decision Number 90/PUU- XXV/2023 and consultations on the draft Bawaslu regulations.

Previously, the General Elections Commission (KPU) had issued KPU Regulation (PKPU) Number 19 of 2023 concerning the Nomination of Participants in the Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections.

The KPU also stipulates the requirements for prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates. Article 13 Paragraph 3 concerning the requirements of the candidate, where the presidential and vice presidential candidates are at least 40 (fourty) years old as referred to in paragraph (1) letter q, starting from the KPU's determination of the Candidate Pair.

Meanwhile, in the Constitutional Court Decision Number 90/PUU- XXV/2023, where the minimum age limit for presidential-cawapres is 40 years, plus the clause that has served as regional head.
