Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Komjen Pol Petrus Reinhard Golose inaugurated the anti-narcotic museum, Monday, October 30. The museum is located on the third floor of the BNN head office, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.

"This morning we inaugurated the anti-drug museum. So this is an anti-drug museum that shows how to win against narcotics, victory over BNN in particular and all stakeholders in the fight against drugs," said Petrus after the inauguration, Monday, October 30, was confiscated by Antara.

The museum, which was initiated by Petrus, was named Pranidha Ranajaya Ghanavara. The name means 'a place that represents the face of BNN for victories in drug racing'. According to him, this museum is the first anti-narcotic museum in Indonesia even in the ASEAN country.

"We have the first anti-narcotic museum in Indonesia, once again the anti-narcotic museum in Indonesia, it can even be said that in Southeast Asia no one has initiated this," he continued.

He mentioned that this museum aims to provide information about Indonesia's history in fighting narcotics and how to deal with it by BNN.

The museum will also continue to update artifacts and documents in order to provide the public with the latest information regarding narcotics alleviation.

"The concept is a smart museum so that we continue to update, so it's not just an artifact but the documents and we can see from ancient times before the BNN, until now we have been looking for and collecting artifacts and this is a place to learn for young people," he said.

The inauguration was also attended by former head of BNN Ahwil Luthan and former Chief Executive of BNN Togar M. Sianipar.

On the same occasion, Ahwil said that this museum is important for efforts to eradicate narcotics in Indonesia.

"I think this (museum) is important because it eradicates drugs not only from BNN, this must involve the entire community, so this is actually a good learning place," said Ahwil.

Agreeing with Ahwil, Togar also considers that drug abuse can be suppressed optimally if there is support from all elements of society.

"There is an expression from the 6th president of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, namely nation in arms which means that all elements of this nation really have to fight against narcotics," he added.

This anti-narcotic museum has been officially opened to the public as of today. The construction of this museum involves all elements of BNN, namely the Secretariat, Main Inspectorate, Eradication, Prevention, Rehabilitation, Community Empowerment, Law and Cooperation, Center for Narcotics Laboratory, Center for Data and Information Research, HR development center.

The elements of BNN are then curated in the form of art-valued artifacts and ornaments with an order full of historical value. The construction of the museum room lasted for one month until it was finally completed in October 2023.

This museum is a form of fusion between digital museums containing videos and photos regarding BNN and historically valuable artifacts. Currently, the artifacts on display reach 457 artifacts.
