SEMARANG - Semarang Polrestabes arrested 22 students from a number of junior high schools and high schools/vocational schools in Semarang City who were suspected of being members of the gangster involved in the brawl at several points in the capital city of Central Java.

Semarang Deputy Chief of Police AKBP Wiwit Ari Wibisono said the 22 students who were still wearing school uniforms were arrested for the crime of possessing sharp weapons that disturbed the public.

"They were arrested for a brawl that occurred in Cilosari, East Semarang; Tambak Dalam, North Semarang: and Jalan Suratmo, West Semarang," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 25.

Previously, on October 22, the police received reports of brawls in the three different locations.

Based on the confessions of the perpetrators, the perpetrators already had an appointment with their opposing group for a brawl.

Most of the perpetrators were identified and finally arrested after a search was carried out.

In addition to the 22 students who have been arrested, he said, the police have also identified other students who are also suspected of being members of the gangster.

For their actions, the students were charged with Emergency Law Number 12 of 1957 for possession of sharp weapons

According to him, efforts to prevent brawls through routine patrols at vulnerable points.

In addition, he said, parents and the school were asked to increase supervision of their students.
