AHY Responds To The Issue Of Being Minister Of Agriculture After Meeting Jokowi

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) responded to the news that his party received a ministerial seat in the advanced Indonesia cabinet. AHY was rumored to be the minister of agriculture after uploading the issue of the 'Lang Prize' on his personal social media.

"Oh nothing, I'm following rumors circulating in the community but there's nothing like that," AHY said at Kertenagara, Wednesday, October 25.

AHY also denied that there was a discussion about the reshuffle when he met President Joko Widodo at the presidential palace yesterday.

"There is no discussion of that," said AHY.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admitted to meeting with the Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday, October 23.

Jokowi said the meeting between him and AHY, son of the sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was only a gathering.

Jokowi said that what was discussed when he met AHY yesterday was the discussion that was usually held when he met political parties.

However, the meeting was held amid the heated issue of a cabinet reshuffle.

One of the ministry posts that will be reshuffled is the position of minister of agriculture. After Syahrul Yasin Limpo resigned, the position of minister of agriculture was then held by the Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo Adi as the executor of the task (plt).

When asked whether the Democratic Party would join the cabinet, Jokowi only nodded his head without giving a statement while leaving reporters.
