Build Awareness Of 2024 Beginner Voters, KPU Holds Nobar Together At Pekanbaru Islamic Boarding School

RIAU - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Riau Province socialized the 2024 General Election to Islamic boarding schools by watching a movie at the Dar-El Hikmah Pekanbaru Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes).

The Educational Socialization Division for Community Participation Voters and Human Resources of the Riau KPU Nugroho Noto Susanto said this was done in an effort to increase understanding of the community. Especially the students who are the novice voters segment, regarding the implementation of the 2024 General Election.

"We hope that through the screening, this film can inspire students to actively participate in the election process and choose leaders who meet their expectations," said Nugroho, in Pekanbaru, Riau, Monday, October 23, quoted by Antara.

He said the visit of the Riau KPU to the Dar-El Hikmah Islamic Boarding School was also part of efforts to get closer to various levels of society. A better understanding of the electoral process and the importance of active participation in democracy is an important step to ensure elections run fairly and empowered.

"The Riau KPU will continue similar socialization and approach efforts to various levels of society to ensure that all Riau residents have fair access and sufficient information regarding the upcoming elections," he continued.

Head of Dar-El Hikmah Islamic Boarding School H Amran Suardi admitted that he really appreciated the visit from the Riau KPU and the screening of the film "History of Promises".

He thanked the election of this pesantren among dozens of Islamic boarding schools in Pekanbaru City by the Riau KPU in carrying out this activity.

"This activity is a constructive step in building a better understanding of elections among students, which is an important part of the people of Riau in the upcoming 2024 General Election," he said.
