KPU And RSPAD Set A Schedule For The Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates Health Tests Starting This Weekend

The General Election Commission (KPU) and the Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Soebroto have set a health test schedule for prospective pairs of candidates participating in the 2024 presidential election who have registered.

"From the first to last registrant, the duration of the time has been determined by the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital team," said RI KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 18.

The presidential and vice presidential candidate pair who first registered with the KPU, Thursday (19/10), is scheduled to carry out a health test on Saturday (21/10).

"So we are coordinating with the RSPAD so that the candidate pair registered in first place will be checked for health on Saturday," said Hasyim.

"Because it is scheduled that there will be two pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates who will register with the KPU on the first day of registration, Thursday (19/10), then the health test will not be possible to be carried out on that day," said Hasyim.

Then, if the health test is carried out on Friday (20/10), he continued, it is feared that it will interfere with Friday prayers considering the test takes a long time.

Furthermore, for prospective pairs who register in second place, the health test is scheduled to take place on Sunday (22/10).

"Similarly, if there are still prospective pairs registered the following day (Friday and so on), they will also be examined on the following day of examination (Monday, 23/10, and so on)," explained Hasyim.

He also invited the mass media to cover the activity.

The KPU has issued KPU Regulation (PKPU) Number 19 of 2023 concerning the Registration of Presidential Candidates and Vice Presidential Candidates for the 2024 General Election. In the PKPU, the registration of presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 presidential election is opened on 19-25 October 2023 at the KPU RI Office, Jakarta.

Registration time on October 19-24, 2023 is open at 08.00-16.00 WIB, while on October 25 it is closed until 23.59 WIB.

Until the day before the registration stage for candidates for the 2024 presidential election, Wednesday, the KPU had received notification letters from two coalition parties, namely the Coalition for Amendments consisting of the NasDem Party, PKB, and PKS, as well as the PDI-P coalition, PPP, Hanura Party, and Perindo.
