Kejari Pariaman Executes 12th Prisoner In The Padang-Sicincin Toll Road Corruption Case

PADANG - The Pariaman District Attorney (Kejari), West Sumatra (West Sumatra), executed the 12th convict out of 13 convicts in the corruption case in the procurement of the Padang-Sicincin toll road.

The convict who was executed was named Syafrizal Amin, who at the time of the case served as head of the jorong.

"Today the Pariaman District Attorney's team has executed one convicted criminal act of corruption on behalf of Syafrizal Amin," said Head of the Legal Information Section of the West Sumatra Prosecutor's Office, Farouk Faharozi in Padang, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 18.

The execution of the convict Syafrizal was carried out based on the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia No. 2205 K/Pid.Sus/2023 which has permanent legal force (inkrah).

"After receiving a copy of the decision from the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia, we immediately sent a letter to Syafrizal Amin, and today he came to the Pariaman Kejari Office to fulfill the summons," he said.

After undergoing a number of administrative processes, he said, the convict Syafrizal was immediately sent to the Class IIB Pariaman Correctional Institution (Lapas) to serve his sentence.

In the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia to sentence Syafrizal Amin to six years in prison, a fine of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to three months in prison, and to pay compensation of Rp. 3,140,647,000, subsidiary to three years in prison.

He explained that Syafrizal Amin was the 12th convict who was executed by the Pariaman Kejari in the corruption case in the procurement of the Padang-Sicincin toll road for the 2020 Fiscal Year.

Eleven convicts who have been executed previously, namely Jumadi andUpik Suryati, who have a background as employees of the West Sumatra National Land Agency (BPN) were executed on July 17, 2023.

Furthermore, Ricki Novaldi, who has a background as Head of Task Force B in the toll road land acquisition project, then Raymon Fernandes, Sadri Yuliansyah, Kaidir, Syamsul Bahri alias Latuih, Nazaruddin, Buyuang Kenek, and Amir Hosen.

The last or 11 executions were carried out against Yuniswan, who is the former Head of the Padangpariaman Regency Environment Agency on September 25, 2023.

Farouk said that after executing twelve prisoners, now there is only one convict on behalf of Syamsuardi.

"Against Syamsuardi, the Prosecutor's Office will not remain silent to immediately arrest him, it is better if the person concerned surrenders himself because there is no safe place to hide," he said.
