Arab League Urges UN for Israeli Military Intervention to Order Gaza Residents to Move

JAKARTA - The Arab League is urging United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to intervene against Israel, which has unilaterally asked the entire population of Gaza to move.

The call was made by the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmad Aboul Gheit, following which the Israeli military dictated that the entire population of Gaza move from the southern part of the Palestinian enclave.

Aboul Gheit described Israel's actions as war crimes. According to him, Israel has carried out a brutal military campaign against the Gaza Strip.

He also emphasized that Israel's directive for evacuation would cause enormous suffering for Palestinians in Gaza.

Reporting from Antara, Aboul Gheit said that Israel's demand to move Palestinians from Gaza was a clear violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention, one of which regulates the prohibition of forced population movements.

Furthermore, he asked the UN Security Council to condemn this Israeli plan and stop it.

Previously, the Israeli military told the UN that all Gaza residents north of Wadi Gaza must move to southern Gaza within the next 24 hours. This was stated by UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric in a statement on Thursday, October 9 evening local time.
