Four NasDem Officials Gather To Discuss Yasin Limpo Case

JAKARTA - Four high-ranking NasDem Party officials are said to be gathering. They discussed the alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture involving Syahrul Yasin Limpo. The four top officials of the NasDem Party who are acting, namely, the General Chairperson of Surya Paloh; Secretary General Hemawi Taslim; Chairman of the High Council Karli Boenjamin; and Victor Laiskodat. "Certainly, it is impossible (not to discuss the case), it's just that we discussed the case experienced by the Minister of Agriculture," said the General Treasurer of the NasDem Party, Ahmad Sahroni, to reporters, Wednesday, October 4. According to Sahroni, in this case NasDem fully supports the law enforcement process against its cadres if there is sufficient evidence. However, it is emphasized that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has not issued an official statement regarding Yasin Limpo's status, although a series of investigative steps have been carried out. "It is true that it is still in general, but the KPK has not yet conveyed its official statement, but the search has been carried out, it is called a legal mechanism that must be respected," he said. In addition, in this matter, NasDem also asked Yasin Limpo to undergo the ongoing legal process. "If NasDem from the first Rio Capella, Johnny Plate, just follow the applicable legal process, so according to the mechanism we respect the KPK legal process and he must follow the process, it can't be done or not," said Sahroni. For information, the KPK revealed that there were three clusters handled by investigators. The details are extortion related to positions, gratuities, and alleged money laundering (TPPU). In investigating this case, a search has been carried out at the official residence of the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul. From this forced effort, Rp30 billion in cash was found in the form of rupiah denominations and foreign currency and 12 firearms. Not only that, investigators also searched the Ministry of Agriculture Office in Jakarta and the house of a suspect, Muhammad Hatta, who was in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. At the last location, the anti-corruption commission found Rp400 million in cash allegedly related to the alleged corruption that was being investigated.

The KPK then stated that it would analyze the findings of the money. Meanwhile, firearms will be taken care of by the police.
