He said the decision to return the aircraft to North Sumatra after the pilot who flew the plane made sure he could not land the aircraft for reasons of passenger safety due to heavy rain. Andi explained that the number of airplane passengers from Kualanamu, North Sumatra to Nagan Raya, Aceh amounted to around 55 people. “ Wings Air is back in Kualanamu, and all passengers are in safe condition, ” he added. According to the flight schedule, the Wings Air plane to Nagan Raya departed from Kualanamu, North Sumatra at around 08.50 WIB and was scheduled to arrive in Nagan Raya at around 09.55 WIB. However, at 09.30 WIB the pilot decided to return to the original airport, because the visibility on the runway in Nagan Raya was very unlikely to land. Andi Siswanto explained that 55 passengers who are currently at Kualanamu Airport, North Sumatra, will be flown back to Nagan Raya, Aceh on Tuesday morning at around 07.00 WIB. Meanwhile, 72 passengers from Nagan Raya, Aceh will also depart on Tuesday at 08.00 WIB in the same plane. Meanwhile, a resident of BMKG Station, Cut Nyak Dhien Nagan Raya Airport, Aceh, Almira Aprilianti, who was confirmed separately, confirmed that the Wings Air plane bound for Nagan Raya from Kualanamu, North Sumatra failed to land due to bad weather due to heavy rains.
