Prosecutors Reject All Defenses Of Fake Doctor Susanto

SURABAYA - The public prosecutor (JPU) rejected all defenses submitted by a fake doctor, Susanto. This was conveyed in a replica trial or reading the answer to the defendant's defense at the Surabaya District Court (PN).

Prosecutor Ugik Ramantyo assessed that the defendant Susanto's request for the panel of judges to ease his sentence was groundless.

"In connection with the defendant's request, we the public prosecutor stated that the defendant's defense was groundless," said Ugik when reading the answer to the defendant's defense, on Wednesday, September 27.

The prosecutor's refusal was based on the facts revealed in the trial so far.

"Because in the process of proving at trial it is proven that the defendant committed a criminal act to benefit himself or others against the law by using a false name, or fake dignity with trickery, or a series of lies," he said.

Ugik ensured that he remained in his demands and asked the panel of judges to reject all of Susanto's defenses.

"So based on these things above, we ask the Honorable Panel of Judges to reject the defense of the defendant and the public prosecutor to state that it remains in the letter of demand that we read out at the trial on Monday (18/2/2023)," he said.

Hearing the prosecutor's statement, the defendant Susanto, who attended the online trial, again asked the panel of judges to lighten his sentence.

"Stay with my petition yesterday, Your Honor," said the defendant Susanto.

Furthermore, the defendant Susanto will undergo a trial with an agenda for reading the verdict on Wednesday (4/10/2023).

Previously, the Public Prosecutor from the Tanjung Perak Surabaya District Attorney (Kejari), Ugik Ramantyo, assessed that Susanto's actions had fulfilled elements of Article 378 of the Criminal Code regarding fraud. For this reason, the prosecutor demanded that the panel of judges impose a 4-year prison sentence for fake doctor Susanto.

Reportedly, Susanto had deceived PT PHC, which at that time opened vacancies for medical personnel. Susanto, who only graduated from high school, applied using her identity as Dr. Anggi Yurikno. He was later accepted and assigned to Occupational Healt and Industrial Hygiene (OHIH) in Pertamba Cepu, Central Java.

Susanto has worked for two years at the place. The action was revealed when a work contract extension was about to be carried out. PT PHC found irregularities in the data when re-crudentializing, starting from documents related to professions such as STR that must be updated. After an investigation, it was revealed that all data used by Susanto was fake.
