President Abbas: Palestinian People Will Stay In Their Land, Colonial Workers Who Leave

JAKARTA - President Mahmoud Abbas reiterated that Israel's occupation of its territory violates international law, with the Palestinian people remaining in its territory, during a speech at the UN General Assembly held in New York, United States on Thursday.

He said those who think peace can be realized in the Middle East without Palestinians enjoying national and legitimate rights are completely a big mistake.

"This population challenges your resolution, violates international law principles and international legitimacy, as well as a race against time to change historical, geographical, and demographic realities in the field with the aim of perpetuating the occupation and strengthening apartheid," President Abbas said., launching the UN website Friday 22 September.

Furthermore, President Abbas also underlined the crackdown by the far-right government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, such as kidnapping people, house destruction, theft of resources to refusal to return the bodies of the martyrs.

"The occupation force is also excitedly excavating the tunnels below and around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, threatening its collapse, or the collapse of some of it, which would lead to outrage with countless consequences," President Abbas explained.

"We have repeatedly warned against turning political conflict into a religious conflict, in which Israel will take full responsibility," he stressed.

On the occasion, President Abbas urged the General Assembly to hold an international peace conference, which was attended by all interested countries to achieve peace in the Middle East.

"It may be the last chance to save the two-state solution and prevent the situation from getting worse," said President Abbas.

Palestinian leaders have also again asked the United Nations and the Secretariat General to implement these resolutions, in order to provide protection for Palestinians and support their access to international courts, "because the current situation is intolerable and untenable".

President Abbas reminded Israel that the terrible occupation will not last long, because it is just ambition and imagination.

"The Palestinian people will remain on their land, which they have lived on for thousands of years, from generation to generation. They cannot leave their land, and if anyone has to leave it, it must be the invaders," concluded President Abbas.
