The Motorcyclist Who Jumped Hits A Child Is Wudu To Death Becomes A Suspect

Padang City Police, West Sumatra, carried out legal proceedings against a junior high school student with the initials MH who allegedly caused the death of a child after his motorbikejumping hit the mosque fence wall.

The incident occurred on Monday (18/9) afternoon in the courtyard of the Lubuk Min Grand Mosque down, Koto Tangah District, Padang. The motorcycle driven by MH suddenly jumped and hit the fence wall of the mosque until it collapsed, then the wall hit an eight-year-old child who was taking wusdu.

"We have handled this incident by asking for statements from witnesses, as well as securing the perpetrator with the initials MH," said Padang Police Chief Kombes Fry Harahap in Padang as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 20.

The perpetrator MH, who is 13 years old and is now being arrested by the police, is in conflict with the law (ABH) on suspicion of negligence which resulted in the death of another person.

The act is regulated in Article 359 of the Criminal Code with a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

However, considering that MH is still a child, the police use the Child Criminal Justice System Law in processing the case.

"We guide the Child Criminal Justice System Law, both related to detention and other provisions. Even when asked for information, MH was accompanied by his parents and we involved the Correctional Center," he explained.

This is done by the police so that the law enforcement that is being handled at this time does not rule out the rights of a child when dealing with the law.

Regarding the incident, the Chief of Police emphasized that the motorcycle-cycling jump took place in the courtyard of the Lubuk Min Grand Mosque, down on Monday (18/9) afternoon.

At that time, the perpetrator MH tried to lift the front of his motorbike, but lost control so that the front of the motorbike hit the fence wall of the mosque until it collapsed.

The collapsed wall then hit a child who was fighting behind it.

Residents and mosque administrators had taken the victim, who was eight years old, to the hospital, but his life could not be saved.

CCTV footage of the victim's surveillance camera about the moments when the victim was hit by a fence wall collapsed circulated in cyberspace moments after the incident.
