Data On Children With Double Citizenship In South Sumatra, Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Finds 1 Still Toddler In Palembang

SOUTH SUMATRA - The Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) collects data on children with limited double citizenship in South Sumatra (Sumsel)

Head of the South Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office (Kanwil) Ilham Djaya said his staff together with the Muara Enim Regency Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil) coordinated the verification of data on limited double citizenship children.

"The purpose of the activity is to find out and verify the number of people in Muara Enim Regency who are registered as married to foreign nationals and prevent children with dual citizenship from marriage from losing their citizenship in accordance with Government Regulation Number 21 of 2022," said Ilham in Palembang, Friday 15 September, confiscated by Antara.

Head of Disdukcapil Muara Enim Regency, Risman Effendi, added that until now on his side, he has only recorded a child with a limited double nationality in Muara Enim Regency who is still a minor or toddler.

He also admitted that he would report it to the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of South Sumatra to prevent the loss of citizenship of limited citizenship as a result of the marriage of a resident of Muara Enim Regency to a foreign national.

"We hope that in the future there will continue to be good synergy between the Muara Enim Disdukcapil and the South Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office," said Risman.
