JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) highlighted a viral video on social media showing the Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan or Zulhas distributing money to residents during a visit to an area.

The viral video was uploaded by the TikTok account of PAN @amanat_nasional with the words 'Pan, pan, pan-sharing gocapan'. Zulhas was seen wearing a striped shirt and wearing a black Vest gave Rp50 thousand to fishermen and residents he met.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said that the distribution of money as Zulhas did was against the 'Learning Fajar Attack' campaign. In fact, a number of representatives of political parties have made declarations with the KPU and Bawaslu.

"From the beginning, the KPK has also campaigned related to Hajar Serangan Fajar, the meaning is that whoever then in these democratic processes must be carried out anti-corruption," Ali told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, September 12.

Ali reminded every party to be anti-corruption, including PAN. You do this by not distributing money so that it is elected during the 2024 General Election.

"Where is the anti-corruption, yes, not by spreading money to earn votes, for example, garnering support and so on because they are fraudulent methods," he said.

"That's what we continue to campaign for earlier, either to the election organizers, the election participants, or the community," he continued.

The KPK has confirmed that it will intervene to oversee the 2024 General Election. Ali hopes that the incident of distributing money will not happen again.

"That is our focus (initiating the election, ed) and we do it continuously because it is part of an effort to oversee the democratic process which will last until 2024," he concluded.
