JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPD RI AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti gave his appreciation to the Chairman of the PKB Party Muhaimin Iskandar who came to fulfill the investigator's summons to provide information in the case of alleged corruption in the procurement of the Indonesian Manpower Protection System (TKI) at the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration (Kemnakertrans) in 2012.

"The request for witness testimony is indeed part of the case handling process. That's precisely so that it will be clear, that's why as Cak Imin said yesterday, he came to help investigators by giving information he knows, so there is no need to be politicized," said LaNyalla, Friday, September 8.

The chairman of the DPD RI asked all parties to respect the work of investigators and the legal process that must be taken, namely requests for information, or examination of witnesses. He also hopes that other opinions do not need to be built, including being used as fuel for political issues, even though it is also common, especially in the political year.

"Because we have to see clearly. The case was investigated and investigated long before Cak Imin declared the Vice President with Anies Baswedan. So the process of examining the case was far before the declaration. Meanwhile, investigators must obtain information from officials in the case. Incidentally, the minister at that time was Cak Imin," explained LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti.

LaNyalla explained, as an anti-rasuah institution, the KPK through its investigators needs to ask for witness statements. Where it has been regulated in the law.

"Witness testimony is a statement submitted by a person based on what he knows, hears, sees, and or experiences for himself about a criminal incident that occurred," he said.

Therefore, LaNyalla also regretted the statements of a number of former KPK commissioners who seemed to have helped build other opinions in the summoning of the former Minister of Manpower and Transmigration. "They know best, if the KPK investigating team will definitely need an official statement in that case," he concluded.

Therefore, LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti hopes that the KPK will work professionally in accordance with the provisions of the law and laws and regulations. The KPK, said LaNyalla, must also be guided by the principles of criminal procedural law and uphold the principles of carrying out its main duties of the KPK.
