3 Suspects Of Illegal Logging At Home Knives In Central Kalimantan Arrested, 265 Cuts Of Meranti Wood Seized

The police have named three suspects in connection with the illegal logging case in the Sei Karing Forest area, Pahawan Village, Pulang Pisau, Central Kalimantan (Kalteng).

"The three perpetrators have been detained at the Pulang Pisau Police Headquarters for legal proceedings," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pulang Pisau Police, AKP Sugiharso, at Pulang Pisau, Central Kalimantan, Friday, September 8, confiscated by Antara.

The three suspects had the initials H (52), S(47) and MA (41), residents of Malumen Village, Besarang District, Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan.

"Disclosure of cases of illegal logging began with public reports that in the Sei Karing forest area, Pahawan Village, Bayama Tingang District," he said.

Sugiharso said the three perpetrators were arrested at their respective homes without any resistance on Monday, September 4, 2023 at around 10.00 WIB.

From the disclosure of this illegal logging case, Sugiharso said that his party had secured several equipment suspected of being a means of processing forest products.

In addition, 265 pieces of processed wood were also confiscated in various sizes.

For the actions of the three perpetrators charged with Article 87 letter B in conjunction with Article 12 paragraph 1 letter I of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation as amended in Article 37 of Government Regulation in lieu of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.

"From the statements of the three perpetrators, forest or illegal logging activities will be carried out starting in June 2023," said Sugiharso.
