East Aceh Kejari Set 6 Suspects In Road Construction Corruption Cases

EAST ACEH - The East Aceh District Attorney (Kejari), Aceh Province, has named six suspects for alleged corruption in road construction with a work value of Rp. 13 billion. The Head of the East Aceh District Attorney's Office, Lukman Hakim, said that the determination of the suspects was after investigators found evidence of involvement. "The involvement of the suspects is respectively as a technical implementing officer for activities or PPTK, supervisory consultant, and service provider. There are two work packages involving each suspect," he said in East Aceh, quoted from Antara, Thursday, September 7. For the work package for the construction of Jalan Beusa Seubrang in Peurelak Barat District, East Aceh Regency, with the suspect with the initials A as PPTK, RA (supervisory consultant), and MS (service provider). Meanwhile, the work package for the construction of Jalan Rantau Panjang connects Alue Tuwi in Rantau Selamat District, East Aceh Regency, with the suspect with the initials KU (PPTK), DA (supervisory consultant), and EZ (service provider). The work package for the construction of Jalan Beusa Seubrang with a contract value of Rp. 11.39 billion, sourced from the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) of the East Aceh Regency Government for Fiscal Year 2021 of the PUPR Office of East Aceh Regency. Meanwhile, the construction of the Rantau Panjang-Alue Tuwi road, Rantau Selamat District, with a contract value of Rp1.71 billion was sourced from the Aceh Special Autonomy Fund for Fiscal Year 2021 of the PUPR Office of East Aceh Regency. Lukman Hakim said the results of the audit of the East Aceh District Inspectorate stated that state financial losses for the construction of Jalan Beusa Sebrang reached Rp. 2.3 billion. "Meanwhile, state losses for the construction work of Jalan Rantau Panjang-Alue Tuwi based on the results of an audit by the Inspectorate of East Aceh Regency amounting to Rp334 million," he said. He said investigators confiscated Rp1.8 billion from the suspects. The money is deposited in a holding account and will be deposited into the state account after this case has permanent legal force.

"Investigators are still working to find new evidence and facts from the two cases. So, it is possible that there will be other suspects being named," he said.
