"Informally, indeed Commission II, Kapoksi together with the Minister of Home Affairs discussed, conveyed the purpose of the idea, such as the election, which was accelerated," Guspardi told reporters, Thursday, September 7. Guspardi explained that the proposal was intended so that the inauguration of regional heads could be carried out simultaneously. However, according to him, if the 2024 simultaneous regional elections are still held in November, it is necessary to pay attention to the potential dispute over the results of the simultaneous regional elections submitted to the Constitutional Court (MK) from several regions regarding the results of the 2024 simultaneous regional elections. "In fact, referring to the experience of the previous regional elections, disputes can drag on if the inauguration and regulations are not regulated and determined firmly," said Guspardi. Therefore, the PAN politician said the DPR and the government would also consult with the Constitutional Court regarding the proposal. Guspardi assessed that there needs to be clear rules of play so that the dispute over the results of the Pilkada does not drag on. "The government and the DPR will consult this issue with the Constitutional Court, it is necessary to make a rule on what games may be filed with the Constitutional Court and which are not allowed," said Guspardi. Previously, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian opened his voice about the KPU's proposal to advance the Pilkada to September 2024. Tito explained that the idea emerged from discussions between political parties, observers, and the government. "Before this, we can see for example that Pak Jokowi was inaugurated in October 2014. In 2017 there was the 101 Pilkada, after that there was another 2018 Pilkada, there was a regent, a new governor in the middle by making their own 5-year development plan. Tito said that if the Pilkada was held on November 27, 2024, it would be difficult for the elected regional heads to be held on January 1, 2025. Because, he said, it would take about 3 months to resolve the Pilkada dispute.

According to him, the distance between the inauguration of regional heads and the president will be even further. In addition, said Tito, regional heads must immediately be filled with definitive officials. Therefore, the Pilkada proposal emerged. Tito also said that if he wanted to hold the inauguration on January 1, 2025, September would be the right time for the Pilkada. Even so, he said it still had to be discussed further with the KPU.
