Hot Heat, Rainy Rainy Rainy Victims Of The South Petojo Fire Who Hoped To Move To Rusunawa KS Tubun

JAKARTA - Around 960 residents of RT 02, 03, 04, 05 in RW 08, Jalan Kebon Jahe Kober, South Petojo Village, Gambir District who were victims of the fire hoped to get a relocation of residences to the KS Tubun Rental Flats (Rusunawa), Palmerah District, West Jakarta.

"We hope that it will be relocated to the Rusunawa KS Tubun because it is still close to Central Jakarta. That is our hope for fire victims," said Kris, one of the residents affected by the fire, Tuesday, September 5.

He hopes that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Central Jakarta City Government will be able to facilitate residents to get a decent place to live in the Rusunawa.

Currently, residents have also set up tents at the location of the fire. Because starting tomorrow, evacuation tents have started to be dismantled.

"The information is that tomorrow all the tents will be dismantled. That's why there are already people who are boarding, and set up tents at the fire site. Yes, when it's hot, it gets hot, when it rains, it rains," he complained.

Head of the Central Jakarta Social Sub-dept., Abdul Salam, confirmed that all tents would be dismantled on Wednesday, September 6, tomorrow. Because the tents for shelters for fire victims had been standing for 14 days.

"Tomorrow all tents will be removed, both have the Social Service Sub-Department, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD)," he said.

Residents' settlement on Jalan Gang Kober, South Petojo Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta caught fire on Wednesday, August 23. The fire began to burn at around 20.20 WIB.

The results of data collection from officials from the Central Jakarta Fire Management Sub-dept. (Sudin Gulkarmat), the cause of the fire in residential areas of Jalan Gang Kober was finally revealed.
