New Axis Discourse Appears, Head Of PPP Banks Issues Leave Political Parties Supporting Ganjar Pranowo

Plt Chairman of PPP Muhammad Mardiono dismissed the issue that the party bearing the Kaaba symbol was about to leave political cooperation with PDIP to carry Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate (candidate) in the 2024 presidential election.

This follows the discourse of forming a new axis between PPP, the Democratic Party and PKS to run for the 2024 presidential election.

Even so, he emphasized that he still supports Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate who has been agreed upon in the decision of the 5th national leadership meeting (Rapimnas) in Yogyakarta.

"The party constitution has decided on the Yogyakarta Rapimnasdi that PPP carries and supports Pak Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate in 2024 and ties himself to political cooperation with the PDI-P," said Mardiono, Monday, September 4.

He said the political cooperation agreement to support Ganjar Pranowo was not only carried out with PDIP, but also the Hanura and Perindo parties. For this reason, Mardiono ensured that it was impossible for his party to divert his political support to the 2024 presidential election.

"I convey that PPP is 50 years old and since the establishment of PPP has always adhered to the principles of the party constitution. So the principle of PPP is to remain istikamah in the party constitution decisions," he said.

Meanwhile, said Mardiono, the Rapimnas decision was not prohibited if it wanted to change. However, there is a long mechanism that must be done and cannot be done suddenly and changes unilaterally.

"Is the rapimnas forbidden to change? Yes, but what is the mechanism, what is the mechanism? At least there is another rapimnas or at the level above it such as the national Mukernas, (national work meetings) and that must also be a decision taken collectively (together)," said Mardiono, quoted by Antara.

Previously, on Friday (1/9), Chairman of the Upper House of the Democratic Party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) revealed that there was an offer to form a new coalition consisting of his party, PKS, and PPP to run for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

The offer, said SBY, was conveyed by an active minister in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet led by President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.

"We also know that a minister, currently, the minister is still active from the working cabinet of President Jokowi's leadership, intensively lobbying, including the Democratic Party by offering to invite to form a new coalition, the Democratic coalition, PKS, and PPP. The person concerned said that the initiative was already known to the Lurah. The minister's words, not my words," said SBY while giving directions at the Democratic High Council (MTP) session at his private residence, Puri Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, Friday.

At that time, SBY did not mention the name of the minister he was referring to. Several senior Democratic Party administrators and cadres also refused to answer questions related to the minister's name.

SBY also revealed that there was an offer to join the group of other presidential candidates, namely from Ganjar Pranowo and Prabowo Subianto. The meeting of the Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) and the Chairperson of the PDI-P DPP Puan Maharani discussed the offer of cooperation.

However, despite these offers, SBY suggested that the Democratic Party should not immediately decide its stance, but wait until the situation is calm.
