JAKARTA - Haerudin (45), a man who was desperate to commit suicide by throwing his body into the West Canal Flood River and drowning was finally found by the joint SAR Team. The victim was found within a radius of 500 meters from the scene on Sunday, September 3.

The findings were informed by the public to the SAR Team. The community previously saw signs of victims floating in the West Flood Canal about 500 meters from the scene.

"After receiving information from the community, the joint SAR team finally carried out the evacuation process for the victims and then we took them to the RSCM for further processing," said the Commander of the Rescue Team for the Jakarta SAR Office, Ahmad Nur Iman when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, September 3.

Ahmad explained that previously the search effort was carried out by dividing the search area into two. The first team made efforts to search using a rubber boat along the West Flood Canal (BKB) up to a 2 KM radius from the scene.

"Then the second team conducted a visual sweep by land along the banks of the West Flood Canal up to a radius of 2 KM from the scene," he said.

Dozens of joint SAR personnel were also involved in the search for victims, including the Jakarta SAR Office, Palmerah Police, DKI Jakarta BPBD TRC, West Jakarta Fire Department, Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade and other elements.

Previously, it was reported that a man named Haerudin was desperate to commit suicide by jumping from the Jatipulo Village Flyover Bridge, Palmerah District, West Jakarta on Friday, September 1, evening.

The Palmerah resident jumped from the bridge and threw himself into the river at around 19:45 WIB. Until now, the victim's body has been missing and has not been found.

Based on the testimony of a witness named Evan, the incident began when he was sitting on the edge of the Embankment River. Suddenly he heard a sound falling from the top of the Flyover bridge. Evan turned to where the sound came from.

"The sound of the sound then sank into the water. When I looked over the bridge, it turned out that there was a motorbike on the side of the road over the bridge," the witness told the officer.
